WHOLE HOUSE RENOVATION EXAMPLES
PROJECT #1 ~ Before photographs of an
original 1780 log cabin and a modest ranch home built in 1978. The cabin
was moved from its original location board by board and was merged with the
ranch home that also underwent a major transformation.

AFTER THE EXPERTISE OF THE "OLD HOUSE
EXPERTS" ~ The project evolved
into a splendid example of early American architecture. The rancher's roof
was raised and dog dormers were added to create a new second floor. A
foyer was added to the front of the house to serve as a transition from cabin to
house ~ replicating the early style of "adding on." While worked
progressed on the rancher, the cabin was dismantled and all the salvaged
materials were numbered and painstakingly restored. Enough original pine
flooring was salvaged to become the cabin's new first floor. The cabin's
first floor is now used as a great room and the second floor as a guest bedroom.
